Hello, so first Im sorry. If you were on my email list before, with a new phone and area, the contacts and emails I had got all lost and so you might just be reading this bad boy on Facebook. Anyway, why the title? It's cause this new area, Pradera is pretty nuts. It's very south in the mission, and about as close as you can get to the city. As we were driving through the first time, I realized it's all concrete and buildings as far as the eye can see. There's a ton of really sketchy apartment buildings made out of red brick. Like I said though, this areas a bit gnarly. It's marked as a "red zone" in the mission, which means it's one of the more dangerous areas. There's literally whole apartment blocks or complexes that are run by drug lords and no one can enter. there's literally one of them right across from our house. The police don't even go in. A lot of people walking around with tattoos all over their face or people you just shouldn...

Well I’m back I suppose, Anyway, what can I say about the week. So Tuesday we had some district council and stuff. Not much else happened. We went to Elizabeth’s and talked to her. Some people think the ONLY thing were here to do as missionaries is baptize, and while that does have a lot of truth to it, it kinda discounts the good and interesting conversations you have with nice people in the street and in shops who probably will never have a ton of interest in baptism as a "waste of ...

Sup  So Tuesday, we went to district council, ate some Chinese food after for some reason, and then we went back to the area. We put in a long couple of hours working on Facebook and calling old investigators. We achieved nothing from it, and I was happy to be able to finally leave. We went to go teach Jesús, the blind recent convert, and oh boy. We all know this guy likes to talk, but my goodness he was on one that day. He talked  FOREVER. We had no clue what to do, so we literally just listened to him, and talked when we could. He ended up talking for just over 2 hours and we could only sneak in 1 principal: Obey and honor the law. Jesús is a great guy, but after that lesson we were a bit grateful to be outside. After we went to teach Gerardo, a guy who works in a tiny, cluttered store and sews and repairs pants and stuff. He's a nice guy and we have nice discussions with him, but Im almost certain that he just likes to discuss religion and im not sure if he'll convert, but ...
