Semana Santa Shenanigans

Happy Holy Week everyone. The people in Mexico were going crazy this last week cause of that.  Anyways hi. On Tuesday after our district council, we went to go eat with inactive’s. I’d never met them before. We walked into their house and there was a lady just leaving. She saw us and started talking to us saying she was a member for a lot of years but she stopped going because she doesn't agree with baptisms for the dead or that the sabbath is on Sunday. According to her there's no biblical evidence for either of those topics and it HAS to be in the Bible to be true apparently. She wanted us to show her Bible verses. I went to John 20:19 and acts 20:7 to explain why we meet on Sunday not Saturday. She literally left the house to go get her Bible and came back. She started giving us a ton of verses from the old testament to prove her point. She started citing Leviticus and that's kinda when one loses interest. She was actually nice, it was just weird that when we entered som...

Hi. It's me again. I don't have an extreme amount to say this week but here I am Let’s see. Tuesday. In the morning we went over to talk to Emma, the old lady who sells juice. She's nice enough. She listened to a brief message about the Plan of Salvation and then she gave us free juice, and her orange juice is super good. Then we went to visit Enrique and Miriam who sell food from a cart close by. They're really close to baptism and it's now just questions of getting married and stuff (the classic). They also gave us free tacos, so those are the perks of knowing people who sell food/drinks. Then we taught a video lesson with Alvaro. He's a good guy, but he has his own interpretations and really knows the Bible. We kinda get the feeling he's just one of those who likes to talk about religion. He had a baptism date but we removed it cause he said if he ever wants to get Baptized, he will tell us. We later went to go eat with a convert who got Baptized like a w...

The sad story of Rodrigo

Hi. So I still don't have very many peoples emails so sorry I guess. Tuesday, we went to district council in the Stake Center, after we walked back, and oh my Mexico is a hot country, and it's even worse when wearing a suit like we were in that moment. We went home to get some water and then went to the church to have some lessons. All the lessons fell through, so we decided to go outside and contact people. Our extremely intelligent zone leaders had suggested we wait outside the gates of the church and invite people who walked past, to take a tour of the building, they claimed it would work so well and said it was better than our normal way of contacting. So we tried it. It literally did not work AT ALL. it was probably the least affective session of street contacting I've ever done. Literally one guy just started laughing at us. We then decided to switch to our normal more old fashioned way of street contacting cause it works better. Later we taught this guy named Alvaro....
