One Last Ride

So, my first week in yet another transfer (probably last, hence the title) in San Cristobal, I’m on my 4th comp in this area. His name is Elder De La Cruz, he’s from Saltillo, Coahuila (up North) he just finished his training and has like 3 months in the mission. Anyways. On Tuesday, we went to district council in the Stake Center in Coacalco. Afterwards we went to go eat Enchiladas de Mole with a family. I kid you not Enchiladas de Mole may just be my favorite food man. After we visited one of the family’s very sick family members. He has cancer and he can’t even get out of bed to use the bathroom. He’s not even 60 and he looks like his 70 or older and his eyes are yellow. It was sad to see. We gave him a blessing and we prayed with him before leaving. Later we climbed a bunch of stairs looking for some member. We finally found her house and we taught her. She had a million questions. Later that evening, we went to go visit Elvira and Juan. There story is quite long. They had been in ...

A good week

Welp, I figure I should write again  cause this week was kinda cool (and long).  So. Tuesday was district council. After district council, we had exchanges. I went with one of my old companions, Elder McClellan. We visited members and stuff, we also took some time to knock doors. We had no success, but we did receive a very dirty look from an old man, also I knocked on a white door with my pen (we knock with pens or coins and stuff like that cause they’re all metal doors) and my pen broke and blue ink got all over my hands, but worse, the white door. I wasn’t in my area that day, so I don’t have much else to say. Wednesday, we were walking back through our area, and as we were passing through the center of Ecatapec, there was a huge protest going on. A ton of people here don’t have water, so we were told they were protesting that. More specifically we were told it was teachers protesting (?). We passed by with our good friend Jorge that day and invited him to be baptized. We j...

A Shortie

So hello! I’m here to jot down some notes on the week!  On Monday evening, there was a funeral at the church. The Bishop asked me to play the piano at it so we went. I only ended up playing the prelude music, but the funeral didn’t even start until 8:30 pm, and so it ended at like 10 and we got home at like 10:30. Tuesday started out hard. Going to district council is never necessarily the funnest activity, and it’s always dang hot after leaving, however, the day ended up being pretty cool. That evening, we were in a part of our area called “Vista Hermosa” it has a lot of hills. We were looking for some family that some other elders had referred us. The only information we had was the street name, and we knew that the door was blue and it was on the corner, we knocked a few blue doors and none of them were of the family. We were almost at the top of the large hill, and there was one more blue door. It wasn’t even on a corner, but we decided to knock it anyway. No one came to the do...
