A good week

Welp, I figure I should write again  cause this week was kinda cool (and long).

So. Tuesday was district council. After district council, we had exchanges. I went with one of my old companions, Elder McClellan. We visited members and stuff, we also took some time to knock doors. We had no success, but we did receive a very dirty look from an old man, also I knocked on a white door with my pen (we knock with pens or coins and stuff like that cause they’re all metal doors) and my pen broke and blue ink got all over my hands, but worse, the white door. I wasn’t in my area that day, so I don’t have much else to say.

Wednesday, we were walking back through our area, and as we were passing through the center of Ecatapec, there was a huge protest going on. A ton of people here don’t have water, so we were told they were protesting that. More specifically we were told it was teachers protesting (?). We passed by with our good friend Jorge that day and invited him to be baptized. We just gotta get him to church now. He's a really cool guy. We also visited some other investigators with Hermano Francisco. After that, we went to go visit a less active who talks a lot named Raul. He was working on his car so we helped him. Well kind of. I really don't know if any of the 4 of us who were there knew how to fix a car (especially me) and plus Raul talks a lot and we were there for 2 hours and finished the day with that. He’s nice though.

Thursday, we had interviews with president. Our president is a great guy. It turns out starting in June, the transfers are being delayed to the end of the week so my release date was changed to July 1st. Interviews took a big chunk of the day away, and after, we had a lesson with Carmina, who's a family member of a member. She's very nice, and she has a ton of questions. It was a pretty good lesson though. We invited her to be baptized and she was a little reluctant to accept the date at first, but by the end of the lesson she accepted and seemed pretty excited. It was a good chat. We visited Armando and Paty as well. Armando has a baptism date. I really like that family, but we've seen little progress which is a little sad.

On Friday morning, we went to go visit with the elders quorum president, Francisco. We had some pretty good visits. We were looking for inactive members. We knocked on one door. I assumed the lady who answered was a member, cause her kids are and stuff, but it turns out she's not, and she was very nice and said we could come back next Wednesday. Her name is Norma. We also had a good conversation with a guy pushing a cart, and a guy on a bike. We then went looking for some other inactives. We had one more lesson with one, and then went to go eat. In the afternoon there was a sports activity in the church, so that was fun. Max came. He doesn't even live in our area (or mission, for that matter) but we were teaching him for a little while, and put a baptism date with him, but now other elders are teaching him. But anyway, he does indeed come to our activities. He's probably gonna get baptized on Saturday and my comp and I are sad we wont be able to be there.

Saturday was cool. We had our english class. It was fun. A while back, me and my last companion met a guy in the street named Ivan. A younger guy. He's like 23 and wants to learn english cause he wants to work on programing and stuff and he says all the best computer programs are in english. He's come to all 4 of our classes we had never taught him the gospel though. After the class he and his brother left. I don't know exactly what happened, but about 2 minutes ish after leaving, he came back and asked if we could start talking with him about the bible and stuff. It was really cool and on Tuesday were gonna have our first official lesson. He's really cool. After the class, we had a family home evening at the church with the whole ward. It was a great activity and 5 non members came. 2 of which were Gabriel (the 15 year old kid who came to church fasting last week) and his dad Carlos. Carlos is a fun guy and has quite a personality. At one point, we were in an activity and he starting having a (somewhat) intense conversation with the bishop about the law of Moses. Everyone really seemed to like the activity so it was fun.

Sunday, we arrived to church that morning, and there was a family of 5 waiting outside the front gate. We let them in, the wanted to talk to the bishop and I assumed they were inactive members, but no, not a single one of them is a member of the church and they just arrived alone after being recommended by someone to go. It was pretty cool. They have 3 sons of the ages 6, 12, and 13. During the class we got to know the dad, Oswaldo. He's a very sincere guy and showed interest in reading the Book of Mormon. We got his number and hope to be able to visit them this week. Me and my comp gave the class in elders quorum that day as well. (For some reason I was struggling bad with my Spanish while trying to give the class. I have no clue why). Gabriel also came to church and said he was fasting again, so that was cool. Another member also brought a non member friend to church that day. The members of the ward are pretty awesome and its a lot of fun talking with them after the meeting. We got like 3 invitations to watch the super bowl. A little while after church, we went with the Labrada family. That’s the family who's son, Armando sends us a bunch of messages and has schizophrenia. There one of the kindest families I've met here and they gave us super good Pozole and flan. Afterwards we went with another family and my comp made cinnamon rolls. I feel pretty useless when my comp cooks and I was just kind of there talking to the sister and stuff. That took up most of the day, so after we went back to the church, had our correlation meeting, and went home. It was a full week. This weeks my comps last in the mission, and the last of the transfer so I really don't know what'll happen next week. Anyways that all from me today. See ya!
