Don't know what to call this one

Ah let’s just get into it.

It was a bit of a busy week so lets start at the beginning.

Tuesday we had district counsel and to help the native Spanish speakers. Every other district counsel is supposed to be in english and I felt so cool even though the only thing I felt cool about was speaking English better then them, so thinking back on it I'm the stupid one.

The Next day was independence day so there was fireworks literally all night. That day though we went back to Tula ‘cause there’s still more work to do. (We might go back once this week too) and we just moved some furniture and stuff and got some boots from members. Also they were putting some white antibacterial powder on all the roads and It looked like snow. Also, there are some insanely nice houses here.

That night we met a drunk American woman who warned us not to get hungover or the place will beat us up. I also got a late birthday present from some Elders in the district. It’s a giant sombrero and I have no where to put it so I just hung it on the wall.

Thursday though we went to the mission office with all the new American elders to go to México city to get our green temporary immigration cards. And there’s a lot of us because a bunch of elders who already have a year on their mission just arrived here cause it’s their original assignment, so this tiny little bus we were on was full to the brim.

When we got to México city I again notice how giant it is. Also its really nice in some parts too. They have huge malls and theaters and modern skyscrapers and stuff. I know sometimes México gets the reputation of being all poor and old (and there is that) but to say its all like that is laughable.

Also a bunch of elders were warning me how difficult the immigration office is cause they're impatient and speak no english and I’d be lucky do escape with my life, but literally I went in the lady asked if i spoke English or Spanish and I chose the one that I could understand and she has me sign a couple things and then the rest of the time I just stood there. It was quite underwhelming.

On the way back though, we were passing a huge poor neighborhood. And I overheard one of the elders who has a year but was first serving in the US say "oh man I hope I never have to serve in an area like that" and when he said that I wanted to punch him and throw him out of the bus.

I don't think much happened on Friday, but Saturday we went back to Tula and we went to this super rich golfing community and it was so bad ‘cause the golf course was feet from the river so it was destroyed. There was also a soccer field that you could barely see the top of the goal post. The rest of our time there was spent cleaning some pool and for some reason I found it so fun and i have no idea why cause it’s was hard work and no one was talking that much, but service is the goat.

Me and my companion had to leave early cause we had a baptism. So we went back to our house and we were rushing to get back to the church to check the font so I'm hot and Sweaty and tired and as we are walking some random dude calls me a "guerro" and usually I can ignore it, but since i was already a bit grumpy it took all I had to ignore it and not yell back one of the new words i learned this week.

But the baptism was good. I had to baptize, speak and play the piano and I'm pretty sure I messed up on all of them. The girls name was May and we only taught her one lesson cause she was a reference from the other elders, but it was a good experience.

Sunday we went to church and we only had two investigators, including May, show up. Im pretty sure we had three on zoom though that day in sacrament meeting  we did May’s conformation and luckily my companion said the blessing cause I have no idea how to do that, much less in Spanish.

Later that day we had a mission wide zoom meeting Where the President Severson told us that the state of México was moving into phase 3 so we can now go to members houses and do some street contacting and everyone was excited but to be honest I'm a little nervous cause now ill have to talk to people face to face and wont always have my handy red book to read out of if II get stuck.

Also that night, me and my companion were supposed to do a Facebook live lesson on the mission page. I was kinda dreading it cause I knew I couldn't mess up in front of a bunch of random people. I prepared some scriptures and practiced what I was gonna say and stuff but then my companion told me we were gonna sing a hymn just me and him and the beginning of the live and I politely said that it would be far better to have some  background music playing instead but he just said no. So we start the live and I think if you watch it back you can see my discomfort during our singing. The other thing on the back of my mind was "my parents are gonna find this aren't they?" And about 10-15 minutes into the live, we were teaching the ten commandments and I about broke a few when i saw the icons of my parents join the call cause I did not want people I know see me try to speak Spanish. I don't think I hid my reaction that well on the live. It was fine though and I also found out grandma was watching so I couldn't get too mad after that. After the live we were gonna walk home but it was pouring and I forgot my umbrella so my companion fashioned a ridiculous looking poncho out of a trash bag for me (don't worry i got a picture)

Anyway thats all from me expect for a quick scripture note. I find it laughable when people dismiss the bible because literally in the book of mormon Jesus Christ himself says we should study it. He specifically mentions the book of Isaiah (Isaiah 54 is so freaking good). Maybe skip Song of Solomon and Judges 19 though. Anyway bye. I'll send some pictures on a separate email again.
