Covid woez
Well it caught up to me, I hadn't ever gotten Covid before, but now, 2 years after the beginning of this dang thing it's finally got me. It's not too bad right now, just a sore throat, headache, congestion and some chills, it's Just we have to be quarantined in the house again . My companion got it first I think but I'm not too sure. Anyway, I’ll be fine, its Just its P-day and we have to spend all day in the dang house...
Anyway enough whining on my part, let’s get into it.
Tuesday wasn’t that exciting at all, the only things I remember was that I read the book of Abraham (I don’t even know why I remember that) and we taught Elizabeth. She’s so freaking close baptism, she’s reading the scriptures, going to church, and praying. She also told us that she got an answer that she should be baptized and she’s still hesitant about it. I have no idea why. We'll see but man she’s close.
Wednesday I learned to listen to the dang impressions of the Spirit, even if they’re weird. We were about to leave the house to start the day, so I went to grab my little bottle of blessing oil. When I went to grab it, I had the weird thought to NOT bring it. I thought that was too weird so I ignored it and brought the oil anyway, about 2ish hours later, I reached into my pocket to feel that the bottle of oil had somehow broken and all the oil had spilled and stained my dang pants (I had my suit pants on, and these pants are part of the same suit, that the other pants got stained by an exploding pen) I literally have no choice but to wear the dang things but dude.
Later that day we had interviews with President. I mentioned last week that we got a call from a woman saying we needed to come bless her house cause weird things were happening, and I asked president what we should do. He told me that we could go, just don’t expect to be preforming an exorcism or whatever. So yeah basically what I thought.
Later that night we had a family home evening to go to. We walked to this house and its Just a mansion. We waited outside the gate for a while, and if your standing outside or at the gate you cant actually see the house. They finally opened the door and it was crazy. A huge walkway with trees, sculptures, and fountains leading to like a 3 or 4 story house. Inside the house theres a ton of art and architecture and a very large, very expensive looking alcohol collection (not all of the people who live there are members) we taught this one lady (non member) and she was ready to accept a baptism date which was cool. They also had this little old grandma maybe in her 90s with them who liked eating hamburgers and drinking Coke. She was funny.
Thursday we had another duke experience. I love that dog but he’s just too crazy sometimes. He followed us all the way to the members house with whom we were gonna eat and he just waited outside for us. Literally for an entire hour. After we got out he started getting all annoyed and barking cause we hadn’t kicked him a rock. It never ceases to amaze me that that freaking animal can wait 1 hour+ for us to get out of a meal/lesson, but cant wait 30 seconds for someone to throw a rock at him. Later we went back to teach Elizabeth, and like the past 5 lessons we’ve gone with her, we’ve gone into it with the plan to teach something different and magically we end up teaching baptism. It must be the Spirit punching her in the face telling her its time. It was a pretty fantastic lesson though I thought and this lady’s close to baptism bro.
Friday morning we got up to a bunch of very nice text messages. The cousin of the lady we baptized the other week was all mad at us cause it wasn’t a spiritual enough experience and now the lady doesn’t really want to talk to us and all that. Maybe she had somewhat of a point, (I mean please the woman almost drowned) but the thing that bothered us about the messages was that they were putting 100% of the fault on us. Also that evening we had a call with Elizabeth cause we honestly thought she could be baptized this weekend but it turns out shed drunken some coffee that morning so now we’ve got to wait two weeks.
That night we went over to that lady’s house that I’d mentioned. The one who said that weird stuff was happening in her house. We got there and she was explaining all the things that have happened to her, she said that there’s constantly a perfume smell or a rotting smell coming from no where, her pots and pans fall of the walls in her kitchen at 3am, she wakes up to her TV on randomly flipping channels by itself, her stuff always ends up in a different place than where she puts it, and stuff like that. She’s a very tiny woman in her 60s I’d imagine. She’s not a member. She said she’s constantly alone and has no one to visit her and she’s constantly crying cause of how much stress she has. Her house is tiny. Two rooms. A kitchen and bedroom (I dont know where the bathroom is) a tin roof, and only one lightbulb to light each room so it was very dark and cold. Honestly we didn’t feel ANYTHING bad in the house at all, us, or the member with us. We obviously believed her stories though, so we gave the house a blessing. After the blessing we gave her a Book of Mormon and invited her to church, since we havent been in contact since, cause we couldn’t go to church due to covid but the member who came with us (Hermano Saul, he’s literally the GOAT) told us she was at church so that’s good.
Saturday wasn’t too insane. We ate some good tacos (not cow head this time) and we went over to teach Elizabeth. It was not my best lesson. We were teaching more of the plan of salvation and I literally could not concentrate at all cause the salsa from the tacos we ate was trying to demolish my stomach and all I could focus on was the fact that I needed to use the bathroom and there was no way I was gonna use the bathroom in Elizabeth’s house. That night we walked over to pick up the laundry (the clothes are never ready on monday) and lm the way back we saw Duke getting attacked by two big dogs pretty bad I might add, and he literally did not care. I threw a rock to see what would happen and Duke broke free from the dogs and ran after the rock like nothing was happening. Later that night is when the sickness hit me like a bag of bricks and I went to bed.
The next morning I felt even worse so I told the Mission Presidents wife and she told me I have all the Covid symptoms and that we needed to quarantine. I’m not gonna lie. It was not fun, my body did not feel good at all and I was laying down most of the day. We had only one lesson on the phone and even though I was pretty sick it felt good to teach. It’s this guy named Víctor. We’ve only ever taught him on the phone and cause he’s got covid too, But he’s easy to teach and he asks good questions.
This morning, like I mentioned, Im feeling a little better, not 100% and my throat is killing me but Im hoping by at least Wednesday ill be back to normal. But yeah its P-day in quarantine.
Bye
I pretty much have 0 pics this week, just this random one we took at the mall last P-day
